About Nar Phu Valley Trek

Nar Phu Valley Trek is less beaten trekking trail, situated in North of Annapurna Conservation Area. The word Nar is originated from a Himalayan wild animal “Naura”- Himalayan Sheep and “Phu” means village. The place is main habitan of Blue Sheep. With the immense potential of enticing natural attractions, dazzling mountain ranges and breathtaking river, Nar Phu offers unlimited experiences for all natural enthusiasts. The awe-inspiring waterfalls and green forest, rich in flora and fauna is major part of trek.

The enthralling Nar Phu Valley is ultimate destination of the trek. The trek can be organized by different ways. Trip to Nar Phu Valley would much more meaning full with adding the itinerary up to Throng La Pass and Muktinath, Mustang. Nar Phu is an ancient village of Gurung ethnic community of Neapl. The locals are culturally and traditionally are rich with own typical language, food and festivals.

The people are Buddhist followers; they pay high respect to the god Buddha along with own local traditional ditties. As a trekkers you can explore some of the ancient monasteries and temple on the way.

The trek starts from Besisahar, which is 5/6 hr far from Kathmandu. The 60% of trail is same of popular Annapurna Circuit Trek. And the trail can be continuing from Nar Phu to Muktinath via Throng La pass. Month of autumn and spring are considered as a best season for trekking to Nar Phu Valley.           Trek from Yak Kharka to ThorongPhedi.

          Trek from Throng Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m) crossing over Thorong La Pass (5,416m).

          Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,600m).

          • Time5 hrs

          Fly back to Pokhara early in the morning and explore Pokhara city.

            Drive back to Kathmandu.
