Chulu East (6584m) Peak climbing trip is highly recommended for those climbers who are looking for some adventurous climbing experiences in Himalaya. Along with this trip would be much more meaningful for training experiences. The height and the geographic condition are also better for beginner climbers. Since the last decade, this peak is highly rated mountain in Nepal.

The chulu East Mountain is situated in Manang District, heart of Annapurna Region. The trekking up to Base Camp offers you to explore beautiful culture of Himalayan people. From the summit of Chulu East the beautiful vistas of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Manaslu(8163m), Mt. Annapurna(8091m) and snowy capped mountains of Annapurna Trekking Trails. Along with varied ecosystems, diverse cultures and an ever-changing landscape - lush, green paddy fields and Oak forests, arid deserts, the deepest gorge makes you happy. And the fascinating mountains are the remarkable part to explore of the trip.

Basically spring and autumn are considered to be the best climbing season. However other months are also suitable, depends on weather condition. As a climber, you need to have some previous trekking experiences and climbing training.  We as a professional climbing trip operator based in Nepal always provides you highly professional climbing guide and other staffs.

We request you to have proper climbing and trekking gear. Only the proper gears make your expedition successful. And also do not forget to bring some water bottles, chocolate and dry foods in your hand carry bags. We offer this trip with combined form of Annapurna Circuit Trek.

  • Day 03: Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Chame (823m.)
  • Day 04: Day 04: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3100m.),
  • Day 05: Day 05: Trek from Pisang to Ngawal (3305m.),
  • Day 06: Day 06: Rest day at Ngawal for acclimatization
  • Day 07: Day 07: Trek from Ngawal to Yak Kharka
  • Day 08: Day 8: Trek from Yark Kharka to Chulu Base Camp (4955m.),
  • Day 09: Day 9: Trek from Chulu Base Camp to Chulu High Camp
  • Day 10: Day 10: We do acclimatize here if we feel uncomfortable.
  • Day 11: Day 11: Today, we ascent the summit ascent and return to the Base Camp.
  • Day 12: Day 12: From the Base camp, it is our opportunity to trek to Manang (3351m.)
  • Day 13: Day 13: From Manang, we trek to Ledar (4510m).
  • Day 14: Day 14: Trek from Ledar to Thorung Phedi (3800m)
  • Day 15: Day 15: Trek from Thorung Phedi to Muktinath
  • Day 16: Day 16: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom
  • Day 17: Day 17: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara, which takes about 22 minutes
  • Day 18: Day 18: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus.
  • Day 19: Day 19: Full Day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley

A warm welcome to mountainous country, Nepal. Our representative will be standby to greet you upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome and assist you to transfer to your hotel. 

    Our trekking leaders will meet you in the hotel and check your trekking and climbing equipment and their conditions and suggest you buy or rent the necessary kits from the trekking shops in Thamel.  Additionally, Our team will brief you about the upcoming trips and overnight at the hotel.

      After early morning breakfast, we take a long scenic drive to Chame. Following the Trisuli River and alongside the Marshyangdi River, the route winds through lush green forests, terraced fields and isolated villages accompanied by panoramic views of Annapurna mountain ranges. About 9 hours of drive takes you to 
      the headquarters of Manang district, Chame where we stay overnight. Being in Chame, explore the Tibetan culture along with the breathtaking view of towering Lamjung Himal.

        The trekking part of the trail start today from Chame to Pisang which takes about 6 hours. Moving through the pine forest, terrace fields, crossing suspension bridges over Marsyandi River, we get to Dhukur Pokhari. After having lunch break over here, we proceed our journey towards lower pisang and then we ascend steadily up the mountainside before reaching Upper Pisang where we spend the night. This traditional villages in Manang region offers the magnificent panoramic views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak.

          We continue our journey toward Ngawal after early morning breakfast. As we move forward, we can see a beautiful green lake, MringTso, in the middle of the hills. Passing across Mani walls, suspension bridges, zigzag route with steeply uphill, we reach Ghyaru, which takes about 3 hours. Explore the typical village of Manang area   covered by traditional homes made of stones. We take lunch and take short rest over here. Another 3 hours of steep ascents and descents, we get to Ngawal, a beautiful village with rich Gurung and Manangi culture and tradition. Overnight stay at Nwagal. 

            To let our body adapt to the higher altitudes to eliminate altitude sickness, we take a rest day in Ngawal which plays vital role for acclimatization. To maintain your body active, you can hike to the hill behind the Nwagal Village. Spend your time visiting nearby area and take sufficient rest to get ready for the further challenges the trail brings.

              This part of the trail is full with scenic beauty along with stone huts and waterfall from tall cliff. While hiking through a rugged route passing scattered villages, we can encounter the wild goat and yak grazing in the pasture land. About 6 hours of ascending on steep hills with exploring the surrounding views of the Annapurna range, the trail reach Yak Kharka, where we stay overnight.

                After taking pleasant breakfast, the trail moves towards Chulu Base Camp through the rocky and rugged terrain. About 5 hours of steeply climb with the mesmerizing view of Annapurna ranges, reach Chulu Base Camp and set the tent over there for the overnight stay.

                  This portion of the trail is quite challenging as the team has to ascend steeply on the narrow ridges. It's a short trek today but the climb on high elevations makes its more challenging, requiring the stamina and good physical fitness. 

                    We are having a leisure day today for getting our body fully recovered and adjust to the high altitudes. As a part of preparation, our climbing leaders will guide you in learning basic climbing techniques, rope climbing methods,  and  demonstrate the effective way of utilizing the climbing kits. Relax your day chatting with team and get physically and mentally ready for the challenges the summit brings.

                      Finally, the much awaited day has arrived. We leave the camp very early morning and follow the guidelines and path set by the climbing leader. Moving on the rocky landscape, we reach to the crampons point where we have to walk on the snowy ridges. Using the climbing kits, following the fixed rope, we climb steeply on narrow ridge just before the summit. About 5 hours of adventurous ascend get you to the peak of the Chulu East (6584m). Celebrate you glorious moments and capture them with cameras as a memory of lifetime. Enjoy your worthy time viewing the closest sights of Mountains such as Annapurna,  Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and many other astonishing peaks. After spending pleasant time at the peak, we descend back to Base Camp. As the descending path just beneath the summit is slippery, we climb down very slowly and carefully. Taking about 6 hours we reach the Chulu Base Camp where we relax and take delicious dinner and enjoy our success and sleep peacefully.
                       

                        After taking early morning breakfast, we quickly clean the Base Camp and get back to the journey toward Manang. The trail moves ahead passing through the suspension bridges, beautiful villages, cultivated lands, monasteries - especially Braga Monastery, accompanied by the astonishing sights of Annapurna range - Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak. About 6-7 hours of trekking get to the fascinating Manang Village were we stop our journey for overnight stay. We stroll around, interact with local Manangi people and visit the village surrounded by traditional flat-roofed houses.

                          Its about 4-5 hours of walk today. After taking the hot breakfast, we continue our trek ascending toward Ghunsang village. The trail further follows the meadow landscape, pass across mani walls, many tiny beautiful settlements, ancient monasteries and finally crossing suspension bridges over Thorung Kola, We get to the Ledar village where you take delicious dinner and rest overnight. 

                            We leave Ledar after early morning breakfast. As we moves ahead we may spot the group of yak and goat grazing on the pasture land. We, sometimes, ascent descent and walk on flat surfaces and cross multiple suspension bridges. During the trail, we can observe the changes of terrains from the meadow vegetation to the dusty, rocky and dry landscape. Before reaching Thorung Phedi, we hike on the narrow rocky ridge and pass through steeply slope which is landslide-prone. We stop our journey toady at Thorung Phedi as it brings the pleasant night in a beautiful atmosphere being in the lower altitude. 

                              To avoid the windy atmosphere, we continue our trek early morning before the sunrise. Taking about 4 hours after the challenging trail with steep ascent and descent, we get to Thorong-la pass. This is the world's highest pass and mostly used pass bringing the incredible views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu. We, then, descend gradually towards Muktinath and the elevation decline sharply. About 7-8 hours of the gradual walk on the amazing landscape takes you to Muktinath. In mukthinath, we visit muktinath temple which is the sacred temple for Hindus having 108 taps and two ponds which run through natural spring, and monastery for Buddhist followers. We spend beautiful time in Muktinath and stay overnight. 

                                After morning breakfast, we proceed our trail towards Jomsom through Kagbeni. This part of the trail is desertic, dry, windy and dusty. For the first hour, we pass terraced fields,  streams, and other 3 hours of walk on barren hills, we reach Kagbeni. After spending quality time visiting the traditional and religious village with old monasteries, we navigate our route towards Jomsom. We descend on the windy and dusty unpaved path to get to the deepest gorge in the world, the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Walking about 3 hours on sandy trail, we reach Jomsom where we spend the night.

                                  Normally the atmosphere becomes very windy after 11am onwards. So, we take early morning flight to Pokhara which takes about 22 minutes. This scenic flight brings spectacular views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Annapurna, Nilgiri and other snowcapped peaks. After landing, we will have rest of the day to spend in Pokhara. It is one of the most tourist visited area because of the attractions and activities it offers. Some of the  famous places includes Fewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Peace Pagoda (Stupa), International Mountain Museum, Gupteswor Gufa (Cave) and the activities to enjoy includes boating, paragliding, bungy jumping and zipliner. You can utilize you time to go for sightseeing in the place mentioned above. Stay overnight in Pokhara. Experience the vibrant nightlife with bustling streets, lively clubs and delicious local cuisine and watch live cultural dances.
                                   

                                    We drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus which takes about 7 hours. However, if you want a short trip to Kathmandu, you can take flight option which is you have to pay an extra cost.

                                      Today is the leisure day for you to explore Kathmandu Valley. You can go sightseeing UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Bauddhanath, Swyambhunath, Pasupatinath, Durbar Squares of Patan, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu (Hanuman dhoka). Enjoy the vibrant nightlife in Tamel and shop for souvenirs.
