Pikey peak (4065) trek is recently becoming famous destination, the closest alternate to crowded Everest trek.   • Day 04: Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Base Camp (3640m) 5hrs

A warm welcome to mountainous country, Nepal. Our representatives will be standby to greet you upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport and assist you to transfer to your hotel. After your refreshment time in hotel, we will meet again in the evening for a welcome dinner during which you can savor authentic Nepali cuisine and get a taste of the adventure that lies ahead.  Additionally, Our team will brief you about the upcoming trips and overnight at the hotel.

    After a warm delicious breakfast, we go for a long drive today. Taking Jeep, we follow the road alongside the banks of the Sunkoshi River until we reach Ghurmi Village. Leaving off the  riverside, our journey progresses through the constantly changing Nepali countryside of dense forests, terraced rice fields, and crosses numerous gushing rivers. We eventually reach Dhap Bazaar where we stay overnight.

      After having a delicious breakfast in the teahouse in Dhap, we follow a gradual uphill route to Jhapre to stay overnight there. The first village you will encounter is Singane. Singane is around 6 km away from Dhap Village, where you can have your lunch and take a rest for some time. 

      With a refreshing lunch, we need to trek for an additional 2-3 hours to reach Jhapre Phokte Danda. From there, we can view Mount Everest and many other mountains like Numbur from a panoramic view. During the trek, we will pass through charming villages and colourful gompas (Buddhist monasteries).

        As the trail continues, we pass accross meadows and ridgelines, offering excellent views of mountain peaks along the mani stone wall, Buddhist monasteries, and small cheese factories. The trek then takes the route below Tapting Danda through the lush rhododendron forest. Then, you will stop at Bhulbhule, where you can have some tea, coffee, and snacks.

        After trekking for a couple of hours, we will then be at Lamjura Danda for lunch. Here, you can rest and have a delicious lunch. From this point the grail follows a sloppy uphill route which takes about 3-4 hours to get to Pikey Peak Base Camp.

          If the climatic condition favors, we start to trek early morning to catch the sunrise view on top of the pikey peak. The short but steep climb reward you  with the aweinspiring sunrise view over mountains like, Mt. Everest (8848m), Number Chuli (6959m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega (6685m), Khatang (6853m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Manaslu (8163m), Dhaulagiri (8167m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and Langtang. After taking in the extensive panorama from Pikey Peak we will descend to Jasmane Bhanjyang.

          Overnight stay at Jasmane Bhanjyang.

            After a pleasant breakfast, retracing the forested trail we descend to Taktor village where we stop for a lunch. Explore the nearby areas and Taktor monastery while our lunch is being prepared. 
            Thereafter, we rejoin the trail descending for two more hours to get to Junbesi. Upon reaching Junbesi, enjoy the warm hospitality of a teahouse, where we can rest and savour a delicious meal. Junbesi is a home to the Thubten Chholing Monastery, where trekkers can witness Buddhist rituals and interact with monks.

              After breakfast, we follow descending dusty route along the Junbesi Khola until we reach a steel suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge we reach Beni Ghat. We continue our walk along the trail filled with scenic pleasures before reaching Phaplu. Enjoy your stay at Phaplu tasting the local cuisine and drinks while taking part in a traditional Sherpa cultural event.

                Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu with a regular sumo jeep. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant with Nepali cuisine.

                      The Pikey Peak is located in the lower khumbu region inside the Tapting VDC in Solukhumbu District of Koshi Province, Nepal.

To make trekking comfortable and climbing easier and to carry heavy luggage, we recommend to hire a porter.
