🌨️ 10. Weather & Summit Attempt
Mountain weather can change rapidly in the Manaslu region. Snowfall, strong winds, extreme cold, poor visibility, and icy or snowy terrain can affect both trekking and climbing.
Conditions around Larkya La, Larke Peak Base Camp, Advanced Base Camp, High Camp, and the summit can vary significantly by season.
The Larke Peak summit attempt normally begins very early from High Camp (5,650 m). If weather, snow, route, or mountain conditions become unsafe, the climbing team may delay, modify, or cancel the summit attempt.
🏕️ 11. Accommodation & Meals
During the trekking section, accommodation is generally provided in tea houses and local lodges. Facilities become more basic as the route enters remote and higher areas.
The Larke Peak climbing section uses tented camps at Base Camp and higher camps.
Meals generally include:
Dal Bhat • Noodles • Soups • Tibetan-style dishes • Vegetables • Pasta • Bread • Eggs • Tea and Coffee
Food choices become more limited at higher elevations, making adequate nutrition and hydration particularly important.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and should cover:
- High-altitude trekking and peak climbing
- Emergency medical treatment
- Helicopter evacuation
- Mountain rescue
- Trip cancellation/interruption
- Lost or delayed baggage
Ensure your insurance specifically covers peak climbing up to 6,249 m, high-altitude trekking, emergency evacuation, and mountain rescue.
🚁 13. Safety & Emergency Support
Safety remains a priority throughout the journey. Our experienced trekking and climbing team monitors altitude, weather, trail conditions, Larkya La conditions, climbing conditions, and the health of participants.
Because the route is remote and reaches above 6,000 m, emergency response may require additional time and coordination.
In a serious emergency, evacuation arrangements can be coordinated depending on location, weather, and helicopter availability.
📱 14. Communication & Electricity
Mobile networks and internet services become limited or unreliable as you travel deeper into the Manaslu region and reach higher elevations.
Electricity and charging facilities are available in some lodges but can be limited or unavailable at higher camps.
Carry a power bank, spare batteries, and essential electronic equipment.
