Langtang Valley Trek would be the best trekking trip for those who are looking for a short trek. The trek starts from 4-5 hour drive from Kathmandu to Syafrubesi, which is 1,400m to a maximum elevation 3,800m of Kyangjing Gomba. The Langtang Trekking Trail is situated in Langtang National Park, which is Nepal’s first National Park, declared in 1979. Mainly, the park is home to many endangered and rear animals, flora and fauna. Also, the park is popular for Red Panda, Musk Dear, Himalayan Thar, Himalayan Deer, Assamese Monkey, and Snow Leopard. On a sunny day, you may observe some of the wild animals on the way of the trail. The trail has tremendous potential of natural herbs and medicinal trees. The aromatic view of Langtang Trek has remarkable points for the trekkers. However, views of numerous mountains on the final day trekking are beyond the limit. The small valley Langtang is homes for dozens of panoramic mountains. Langtang (7,000m), Yala Peak, NayaKhang and DorjeLakpa are some of the popular and highest mountains of the region.

In addition, the best time to trek in this region is during spring and autumn. However, it is the convenient to travel in other seasons as well. The teahouses and hotels in the trail are well managed with the access of phone charging and the Internet. Welcome to the Himalayan country, Nepal. Upon your arrival, our Southcol Adventures' representatives will greet and drive you to your respective hotel. You may rest and discover the city of Thamel the remaining time of the day.

    We will have a long drive today. After breakfast, we drive from the bustling city to peaceful natural area of Langtang region passing through the beautiful village, lush forests, winding mountain roads along with the scenic mountain vistas. About 8 hours of travelling take you to the small mountain town, Syabru Besi.

      After breakfast, we begin the trek initially passing across a long suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi river. The trail gradually walks up through terraced fields, beautiful villages, lust forest of oak and rhododendron. After 2 hours of walk, we climb up for an hour to reach the bamboo village where we take a breather. We are now already in Langtang National Park. As we move ahead, we may have a change to witness the langur monkeys, red pandas and many bird species. Passing through the beautiful landscape offering stunning views, another steeply climb get to you to Lama hotel in Changtang village where we will stay overnight. 

        As the trail progresses, you will feel yourself more deeper into the Himalayas. We start our trek ascending uphill through dense pine and rhododendron forests and pass across the wooden bridge and come down to lush meadows of Goretabela where we stop for the lunch. As the journey continues following through the pasture land, we may witness yaks and wild goats grazing. Further on, the trail lead into dense forests, passes through scattered Tamang villages accompanied by streams, traditional water-driven mills, chortens, prayers wheels. After 2 and half hours of walk takes you to the headquarter of Langtang Nation Park, the Langtang village. 

          The trail moves ahead through the rich yak pastures and beautiful traditional villages along with stunning Langtang ranges around. After crossing the wooden bridge we ascend on glacial moraine and several mountain passes to reach our overnight spot, the Kyanjing Gompa. The Gompa offers a peaceful environment and spiritual lives of the Himalayan people.

            To let our body adjust to the high altitude we will have the acclimatization day in Gompa today. With the gradual ascent and staying hydrated helps to nutralize altitudes sikness. We hike to Tseko-Ri to make our body remain active. We start to hike early morning to save more daylight time for rest.  Moving across pastures land and alpine ridges get to Tserko-Ri summit. We descend back to Gompa for sufficient rest and do other recreational activities. 

              We continue our trek back to Lama Hotel descending the same route we took while ascending up earlier. Passing through the dense forest we firstly reach Langtang village and traverse through pasture land to get to Ghora Tabela where we stop for lunch. Rejoining the trek we continue to downhill to Lama Hotel and stay overnight there.

                Today is the last trekking day of the trail. Recollecting the earlier memory back when going up, following the same path, journey continues towards Syabru Besi. One can witness climatic changes and the variations of landscapes from mountainous region to valley region. The trail leads gradually through Tamang and Sherpa villages, descend sharply before reaching Syabru Besi where we stay and spend the night today. 

                  As the trekking part is over, we drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner in a typical Nepalese Restaurant with cultural show.

                      The Langtang Valley is located north of Kathmandu, inside the Langtang National Park within Rasuwa district of the Bagmati Province in Nepal.

                    • Prime trekking seasons including pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November) offer the most favorable time to trek Langtang Valley. We highly recommend post-monsoon season for Langtang Valley Trek as the fact of suitable weather conditions with the drop in temparature, clear skies, and vivid mountain view and safer trek.

                    • The Tamang Heritage Trekking trail is not much difficult and is considered a moderate trek. This trail involves steep ascents, long walking hours, and remote trails with combined cultural trek with stunning landscapes of langtang region. However, continuous daily hikes of about 6-7 hours with the altitude gains of around 400-600m and acclimatization hike to Tserko Ri is demanding and requires additional effort. Due to the moderately challenging trek, it is suitable for beginner travellers with the basic level of fitness seeking the off the beaten trail.

                    • It is not mendatory, but trekking around the altitude of 5000m can cause altitude sickness and long enduring journey may lead to fatigue. It is recommended to have good physical fitness and previous high-altitude trek above 4500m to make Langtang Valley trek enjoyable and comfortably achievable.

                    • It's not mendatory to take a guide to trek Langtang Valley.  Hiring a licensed guide is highly recommended for safety, local insights, and easier navigation through the trails.
