Born in Pangboche, Solukhumbu, one of the most famous Sherpa villages in the Everest region, Aachu Sonam Sherpa has spent his life surrounded by the world's highest mountains. Located on the trail to Everest Base Camp and beneath the magnificent Ama Dablam, Pangboche is known for producing some of Nepal's finest climbers and mountaineering guides. Growing up in this legendary Himalayan village inspired Aachu to pursue a lifelong career in mountaineering.
With more than 22 years of experience as a professional climbing and expedition guide, Aachu has built an outstanding reputation for his technical skills, leadership, and commitment to climber safety. He has successfully summited Mount Everest eight times and has also reached the summits of Cho Oyu, Manaslu, and Makalu, earning extensive experience on some of the world's highest mountains.
Aachu is especially experienced on Ama Dablam, one of Nepal's most beautiful and challenging peaks, having successfully climbed it more than 10 times. In addition to his climbing achievements, he is highly regarded for his expertise in expedition planning, logistics, and team management. His calm personality, excellent leadership, and ability to guide climbers safely at high altitude have made him a trusted guide for mountaineers from around the world.
