Born in Lelep Ghunsa, in the breathtaking Kanchenjunga region of eastern Nepal, Kasang Sherpa grew up surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and the rich traditions of mountain life. Raised in one of Nepal's most remote trekking destinations, he developed a deep connection with the mountains from an early age, naturally building the skills and endurance that have shaped his career as a professional trekking and climbing guide.
With over 12 years of trekking and climbing experience, Kasang has established himself as a highly skilled Climbing and Trekking Guide at South Col Adventures. As a native of the Kanchenjunga region, he is regarded as an expert guide for trekking and climbing expeditions throughout this pristine and less-explored part of the Himalayas. His extensive local knowledge, combined with years of guiding experience, allows him to lead guests safely through challenging mountain trails while providing an authentic Himalayan experience.
Kasang has built an impressive mountaineering record through successful ascents of some of Nepal's most renowned peaks. He has summited Mount Everest twice and has also successfully climbed Manaslu (8,163 m), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Island Peak (6,189 m), and Lobuche Peak (6,119 m). In addition, he has successfully summited Tengkoma Peak three times, demonstrating his strong technical climbing ability and extensive experience on high-altitude trekking peaks.
