Born in Taplejung, at the base of the magnificent Kanchenjunga region—home to Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third-highest mountain in the world—Parash Bhattarai developed a deep appreciation for Nepal's mountains and natural beauty from an early age. Growing up in the Himalayan foothills and under the guidance of his elder brothers, he was introduced to trekking and adventure tourism, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in Nepal's trekking industry.
Parash completed his higher secondary education in his native village before earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Studies. Inspired by his elder brothers, Moti Bhattarai and Anil Bhattarai, he entered the trekking profession and spent more than a decade as a professional trekking guide. During his guiding career, he led numerous trekking groups across Nepal's most popular Himalayan destinations, including Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Kanchenjunga Base Camp, Mardi Himal Base Camp and many other renowned trekking regions. His extensive field experience allowed him to gain a deep understanding of trekking operations, client service, logistics, and the unique challenges of Himalayan travel.
Building on his years of practical experience, Parash gradually expanded his expertise into administration and business operations. His strong organizational skills, trekking knowledge, and commitment to quality service enabled him to establish a solid foundation within South Col Adventures. Today, as the company's Administrative Head, he oversees daily administrative operations, coordinates office management, supports expedition logistics, and ensures smooth communication between clients, guides, and operational teams.
