Tashi Thundi Sherpa

Originally from Khumjung, Solukhumbu, Tashi Thundi Sherpa has dedicated more than 17 years to Himalayan mountaineering and expeditions. Raised in the Everest region, he developed a natural connection with the mountains and Sherpa heritage from an early age. With nearly two decades of experience in senior guiding roles, he has become a seasoned and trusted high-altitude professional.

Tashi Thundi has an impressive climbing record, with 13 successful summits of Mount Everest, as well as ascents of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, and Island Peak. His extensive time in the mountains has built strong expertise in high-altitude routes, acclimatization, technical climbing, and expedition safety.

Known for his excellent communication skills, he works confidently with climbers from diverse backgrounds. His clear and friendly approach helps expedition members understand climbing procedures, mountain conditions, and safety requirements while building trust and strong teamwork.

As a Senior Climbing Guide, Tashi Thundi is valued for his calm leadership, sound judgment, and technical ability in challenging environments. His skills in glacier travel, rope techniques, fixed-line climbing, high-altitude navigation, and safety make him a dependable guide during demanding expeditions.

He is equally respected for his courage, humility, and compassion. His commitment to helping others was demonstrated during a high-altitude rescue in which he carried an injured climber from above 8,000 meters to safety—an extraordinary act of bravery and selflessness.
